Deep Tissue Massage (DTM) Continuing Education Workshop is presented in a way that differentiates between deep pressure and deep tissue massage.  It discusses the difference between good pain and bad pain while teaching cues to watch for to insure the LMT is not using too much pressure for the individual client.  Key principles to DTM are taught as well as forearm points of awareness to insure proper body mechanics.  Cautions and Contraindications for DTM are discussed.  Considerations for DTM including body types and muscle health, are discussed.  LMTs will learn how to pre-screen their clients before receiving DTM as well as post session discussions they should have with clients following the treatment.  Full body DTM techniques are demonstrated by the instructor with LMT trade practices.

The purpose of this course is to teach LMTs safe and correct ways to add DTM to their practice.  They will be able to regulate their pressure (too little or too much) using appropriate screening and body mechanics to achieve positive outcomes from DTM treatment.

Dress comfortably, as we will be giving and receiving bodywork throughout the day.

Drink plenty of water the day prior to the workshop.
